Outdoor Track In the summer months (roughly April to October) we race outdoors on our permanent multi surface track. Much work has been done over the past two years to upgrade the track and facilities which now comprise the following: The track is truly multi surface with a mixture of astro turf (~20%), grass (~55%), concrete (~5%) and Tarmac (~20%).
The track is marked out using plastic corrugated irrigation pipe and rubber hose which allows us to produce an infinite number of track designs - but we normally keep our 45m long astro turf straight to allow for some high speed overtaking. Drivers get an unrestricted view of the track from our covered rostrum which can fit up to ten drivers at a time. Our 24' x 8' race control portacabin gives the race director a good view of the track while our AMB race computer keeps count as the cars lap the track. A full public address system allows the race director to provide a running commentary while a speaker on the rostrum allows drivers to hear the computer system clearly as it announces the start and finish of the race. There is adequate parking just outside the track area and drivers can either pit behind their cars, or use some of the space within the portacabin or under the adjacent lean-to covered area.
