Classes

Oswestry Radio Car Club welcomes a number of different RC classes. The list below shows the classes that we cater for in our leagues. Note that 1/8th nitro rally X cars are not permitted due to the damage they inflict on our track.

If you have a car and your not sure if it matches any of the classes shown below then come down and see us on a Thursday night or give us a call.

 

1/10th Scale 2WD Electric Buggy
The most popular form of RC racing and arguably the most exciting. 2WD buggies are where most people start out racing due to the simplicity and cost. Many drivers at the club race the Associated RC10B4 although any BRCA legal model is permitted. (Allowed indoors and outdoors)
1/10th Scale 4WD Electric Buggy
For increased speed and grip these models push the limit of what is possible in RC. 2006 has seen many major manufacturers introducing new and exciting 4WD models such as the Hot boddies D4, Associated B44, Yokomo MR4-BX and Losi XX JC Concepts 'Worlds BJ4'. (Allowed indoors and outdoors).
1/10th Scale 2WD Electric Stadium Truck

Take a 2WD electric buggy, increase the chassis length, add longer wishbones and huge wheels, top it off with a truck body and you have a stadium truck! Not as popular as they were a few years ago but still welcome at Oswestry (Allowed indoors and outdoors).

1/12th Scale 2WD Electric Mardave V12 'Stock Car'
Mardave V12 is perfect for those starting to race or wanting to race on a budget. The V12 is a very simple car with a flat aluminium chassis, it runs on a 4.8V battery and uses a cheap 540 style motor. Modifications are strictly limited so racing is close and fun. 1/10th Scale 4WD Electric Touring Car
For maximum speed and amazing grip through the corners these 4WD touring cars are incredible. Oswestry welcomes those wishing to run touring cars during the winter season. Motor size limited to 19T for those wishing to score points. (Allowed indoors only). Not as popular as in recent years due to the resurge in off road. Want to race indoors? get a Mardave!
1/8th Scale 4WD Nitro Monster Truck
Based on the real American monster trucks and just as entertaining these fuel powered cars provide both speed and noise that make these machines exciting to drive and watch. (Allowed outdoors only).
1/8th Scale 4WD Nitro Trugy
Cross a nitro monster truck with a buggy and you get a 'truggy', capable of our cornering a monster truck they are more adept at racing - truely outstanding machines. (Allowed outdoors only).
